View larger imageThis model was built from Bluejacket's kit. It was my first major model (following the Sakonnet Day Sailer and Muscongus Bay Lobster Smack). The kit is top quality and the instructions, by Eric Ronnberg, Jr. are terrific.

View larger image As you can see, it's a solid hull kit. After doing this one, I'm convinced that solid hulls are no easier than plank-on-bulkhead. It took me about 80 hours to get the hull to the point where it was ready to be painted as seen in here. Overall, I spent about 350 hours on the complete model.
It was a long project for me, and much more complex than my first two kits. In some respects, I wish I'd waited until I'd built a couple more models before I tackled this kit. I think I could have done a better job on it and it's a kit that deserves ones best efforts. But it was very rewarding to build and I really learned a lot from building it. In any case, it garners pleasing comments of awe from non-modelers who don't know how to look for the flaws :-)
